it was one of the overlords of my company, well and since we all know that as topic for a smalltalk one should neverever choose shiny topics like religion, politics or wars etc. etc. etc. he just routed the topic over to football ... dear americans once and for all ....

Handegg! I like that! The only time one's foot actually touches the ball,if an ovoid can really be called a ball, is during kickoff. The rest of the "game" the ball is HANDled, not kicked.

well it´s only in the united states where they use the word football for a total different sport and even though i know it i still fall for it from time to time, and i really was like "John wtf are you trying to tell me here? ... oh you mean ohhh damn right you mean american football ... or handegg!"
